The Hayli Gubbi volcano has erupted, sending a tall ash plume across northeastern Ethiopia and toward the Arabian Peninsula. Severe flooding continues to overwhelm Southern Thailand, with all 12 districts of Pattani now submerged following days of heavy rainfall and rising river levels. Over 200,000 residents have been affected, and one additional fatality has been confirmed, bringing the death toll to three in the province. In Pattani Municipal Area, floodwaters exceeding 50 centimetres have forced widespread road closures and halted local movement. The crisis has expanded to Satun Province, where a surge of floodwater has inundated the Satun Municipal Area, including the fresh market and 20 surrounding communities. All seven districts of Satun are now affected, with more than 80 schools closed and key roads rendered impassable. Authorities are investigating a series of methanol poisonings connected to contaminated alcoholic beverages sold in São Paulo and nearby regions.
