Typhoon Uwan is intensifying and is expected to hit the Philippines early next week

It is expected to hit northeastern Luzon on Sunday, November 9, or Monday, November 10, bringing heavy rain, winds up to 200 km/h, flooding in low-lying areas, landslides, and rough seas. Infrastructure damage and power outages are possible. Advice: - Avoid coastal areas over the next few days. If you are near the coast, move further inland. - Improve your location to closed, stable structures that are elevated off the ground. Flash Flooding in Phuket

Rift Valley Fever (RVF) Outbreak- Ongoing Public Health Emergency

Mauritanian health authorities and the World Health Organization report a major Rift Valley Fever outbreak affecting livestock and humans in rural areas. As of late October, more than 250 confirmed cases and dozens of deaths have been recorded. The disease, transmitted by mosquitoes and contact with infected animal blood or tissues, continues to spread among herding communities.
