Public transport in Paris will face significant disruptions on Monday, July 14, due to Bastille Day events: - Morning (from start of service): Metro stations Tuileries, Argentine, George V, Concorde, Champs-Élysées-Clémenceau, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Charles de Gaulle-Étoile will be closed throughout the day for the military parade along the Champs‑Élysées. - Evening (from 19:00): Fireworks around the Eiffel Tower will prompt closures of Bir‑Hakeim, Passy, Dupleix, Trocadéro, École Militaire, and Alma-Marceau stations.   Advice: - Avoid using the affected stations on July 14; expect widespread metro, RER, tram, bus disruptions, traffic restrictions, and parking bans. - Plan alternate routes: Use unaffected metro/RER lines or shift to buses, trams, bike-sharing, or walking routes. - Allow extra travel time: High congestion and rerouted services are expected near parade and fireworks zones. - Follow police and transport authority instructions: Temporary signage, staff directions, and station closures will be enforced.  

Government authorities have issued the highest-level heatwave warnings across Seoul, Incheon, Sejong, Daejeon, Gwangju, & provinces of Gyeonggi, Gangwon, North Chungcheong, South Chungcheong, North Jeolla, South Jeolla, North Gyeongsang, and South Gyeongsang as of this morning. Hotspots in the country are currently experiencing daily peak temperatures above 35°C, with some areas, such as Gangneung, recording highs of up to 38.7 °C.   Advice: - Stay indoors during peak heat (10 AM-5 PM): seek air-conditioned or shaded environments in cities and rural areas. - Stay hydrated: Drink water regularly, even if you don’t feel thirsty. - Limit outdoor exertion: postpone strenuous activities, walks, or sightseeing until cooler hours. - Prepare for power stress and outages: charge devices, have backup batteries, and use cooling strategies.  

Myanmar’s Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a flood warning for Nyaung-U and Taungoo townships due to rising river levels. Hydrographs show increased flows in both areas, posing a risk to residents near riverbanks and low-lying zones.   Advice: - Avoid low-lying and riverside zones, including farmland and communities near riverbanks. - Seek higher ground, especially near rivers or low-lying areas prone to flash flooding. - Do not cross floodwaters, whether on foot or by vehicle - currents and depths may be underestimated. - Drive cautiously or delay travel; expect potential closures or detours, visibility may be poor, and roads can be slippery or blocked. - Be ready to evacuate: if directed by officials, move promptly to higher ground or local shelters.  

A 5.3-magnitude offshore earthquake struck approximately 45km (27 miles) south of Port Vila, at a depth of 10km (6.2 miles) at around 17:16 local time (06:16 GMT). There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, and a tsunami warning was not issued.   Advice: - Tsunami potential exists for all offshore quakes- relocate to higher ground away from the coast for the next several hours as a precaution. - Stay alert to official notices from Vanuatu’s National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) and regional monitoring centers. - Manage aftershock risk: expect possible tremors, secure loose items, and maintain readiness to move to elevated zones. Know evacuation routes and keep emergency supplies ready.  

Environmental activists will rally today, July 13, at 9:00 AM local time at the intersection of Avenida Atlântica and Avenida Princesa Isabel in Copacabana. The protest is against Bill 2159/2021, also known as the “Devastation Bill,” which aims to weaken environmental licensing and protections in Brazil.   Advice: - Avoid Copacabana’s Avenida Atlântica-Princesa Isabel junction from morning into midday; expect road closures, pedestrian congestion, and public transit detours. - Use alternate transport routes; metro and bus services around the rally area may be rerouted or delayed. - Stay alert to mood shifts: peaceful protest may escalate - if tensions rise, leave the area immediately. - Secure your belongings from opportunistic crime in dense areas.  

Public transport workers from the Russo and Segesta companies, represented by the OSR FAISA-CISAL unions, will hold a strike in Palermo, Sicily, on July 14 from 09:30 to 13:30 local time. At least one tornado has already been reported in Iowa, where cities like Davenport experienced flooding and property damage.
