Rail workers from CFR Călători, affiliated with the Federation of Railway Transport Unions, have announced daily protests outside the Ministry of Transport from 09:30-11:30 local time (07:30-09:30 GMT) on 17-21 February. While a previously threatened nationwide strike did not occur on February 1, workers continue to demand improved conditions and have not ruled out future industrial action.   Advice: Allow extra travel time if commuting in central Bucharest on 17-21 February and expect potential traffic disruptions near the Ministry of Transport. A wildfire has been burning in the higher reaches of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-7, above Sikpaswor. The fire has blanketed the Gaurishankar Himal and Rolwaling mountain range in smoke, with flames darkening the snow-covered ridges. Officials believe the fire was caused by human negligence, and efforts to contain it remain challenging due to difficult terrain.   Advice: Avoid Gaurishankar Himal and the Rolwaling mountain range until further notice. Monitor updates from local authorities and follow their instructions. If near the fire, move to a safe location and avoid smoke inhalation.

Intense seismic activity continues in the Greek islands of Santorini, Amorgos, Anafi, and Ios, with four offshore earthquakes exceeding magnitude 4.0 recorded within a 15-minute period on February 4.
