Multiple wildfires remain active across Colombia, with Tolima experiencing some of the most significant fire activity. Thousands of hectares have burned, and emergency declarations have been issued in affected areas to support firefighting and response operations. Dry conditions may allow fires to spread or flare up rapidly, potentially causing localized road closures, reduced visibility from smoke and evacuations near affected communities and rural areas. Emergency resources are also under increased pressure following the recent earthquake.

A Hurricane Warning is in effect for the Big Island as Tropical Storm Lala approaches, with outer rainbands already affecting the island. Heavy rainfall, damaging winds and dangerous surf are expected, with a significant risk of flash flooding, landslides, fallen trees, power outages and road closures. Public facilities have been closed and all Hele-On bus and Paratransit services on the Big Island are cancelled through August 16.

A magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck north of Flores early today, causing widespread damage and killing dozens of people. Hundreds of buildings and public facilities were damaged. At the same time, landslides blocked roads and communication disruptions affected some of the hardest-hit areas. Hundreds of aftershocks have been recorded, including tremors above M6, and seismic activity has not yet significantly decreased. Strong aftershocks may cause further damage to already weakened buildings and trigger additional landslides or road disruptions. The tsunami warning issued after the main earthquake has been lifted.

* Check road, ferry, flight and accommodation status before traveling across Flores.
* Expect possible power and communication disruptions and keep alternative communication arrangements where possible.

A major wildfire remains active in the Landes region, where around 1,600 hectares have burned and approximately 650 residents and holidaymakers have been evacuated. Around 550 firefighters and multiple firefighting aircraft remain deployed. Although conditions improved during Saturday afternoon and the fire did not significantly expand, authorities said it is still not contained. Two active fire areas remain around Luglon and Garein, with the Garein sector continuing to experience unstable fire lines and repeated flare-ups. Local road closures and access restrictions remain possible.

Wildfires continue to affect parts of northeastern and southwestern Spain, with active firefighting operations and multiple road closures in Aragón and Huelva. Access in some affected areas remains restricted, and further local disruption is possible as high heat, dry conditions and unstable weather continue. Mount Etna’s ongoing eruption continues to disrupt air travel in eastern Sicily. Catania Airport has extended the suspension of flight operations until 02:00 local time on August 15 due to volcanic ash. Hundreds of flights have been cancelled or diverted during the ongoing disruption, and further delays or cancellations remain possible after operations resume. Advice: * Check your flight status directly with your airline before traveling to Catania Airport. * Be prepared for delays, cancellations or diversion to other Sicilian airports. * Allow extra time for onward travel if your flight is rerouted.

Wildfires have forced evacuations and caused road closures along parts of Croatia’s Dalmatian coast. The fire near Omiš has weakened, but firefighting operations and traffic restrictions continue, while another fire remains active on Pelješac. Strong winds and dry conditions may cause renewed fire activity and additional local disruptions. Advice: * Avoid affected areas and follow local evacuation instructions. * Check D8 and Pelješac road conditions before travel. * Allow extra time between Split, Omiš and Makarska.

Severe storms have caused major flooding, road closures, power outages, and widespread damage across Indiana and Ohio. Some areas of central Indiana received over 11 inches of rain (30 mm), while flood warnings remain active in parts of Ohio. Additional heavy rain may cause renewed flash flooding and further travel disruptions through Friday.

A major wildfire remains active near Stourbridge after spreading rapidly into residential areas, damaging several homes and forcing residents to evacuate. Firefighters continue working to control the blaze amid very dry conditions. Local roads have been closed, and rail services between Stourbridge Junction and Hagley were suspended due to fire near the tracks.

A wildfire near Siviri has spread through forest and resort areas, forcing the evacuation of more than 300 residents and tourists by sea. Firefighting operations remain underway, and traffic on the main road between Siviri and Kassandreia has been disrupted. Travelers in Kassandra may face road closures, smoke, and sudden evacuation instructions while the fire remains active.
