Large anti-G7 demonstrations are taking place in Geneva ahead of the G7 Summit, scheduled to be held in Évian, France, from June 15–17. The protest has caused significant disruption in central Geneva and across the Swiss-French border area. Local transport authorities reported major changes to tram, trolleybus and bus services, while several border crossings have been affected by closures and increased security checks.

During the protest, incidents of vandalism, clashes, a vehicle set on fire, damage to a UN office and police use of tear gas were reported. Authorities have deployed large security forces in Geneva and around Évian, and further roadblocks, public transport disruptions and delays are expected during the summit period.

Chinese authorities are warning of an increased risk of flooding in northwestern China, including Xinjiang and surrounding desert regions, due to unusually high temperatures, heavy rainfall and rapid snow and glacier melt. A powerful M7.8 earthquake struck southern Mindanao on June 8, causing severe damage, casualties, aftershocks and ongoing disruptions in affected areas. Separately, Mayon Volcano in Albay remains under Alert Level 3, indicating a high level of volcanic unrest. The Thai Meteorological Department warns of continued thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across Thailand on June 14, due to the southwest monsoon. Accumulated rainfall may trigger flash floods, runoff, and local flooding, especially near waterways, foothills, and low-lying areas. Sea conditions may also deteriorate, with waves rising above 2 meters during thunderstorms in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.
