Smoke from wildfires in northern Ontario has blanketed Toronto in an orange haze, significantly reducing air quality. Environment Canada has issued an orange air-quality warning, with very high-risk conditions expected overnight and high-risk levels forecast to continue through July 16 before improving on July 17. Outdoor events may be modified or cancelled due to the smoke.

Strong storms and heavy rain have hit parts of southern Germany, with flooding reported in Nuremberg, Fürth, Erlangen, and Reutlingen. Nuremberg Airport has temporarily suspended operations, some incoming flights have been diverted to other airports, and outgoing flights have been delayed. Local infrastructure has been damaged. Local thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are expected to continue until July 17.

The city's Gentse Feesten festival will take place from July 17 to 26 and is expected to attract around 1.5 million visitors. Significant traffic congestion, increased security, traffic restrictions, and delays in local transport are expected in the center of Ghent, especially around the event venues.

Severe flooding from Typhoon Bavi continues to affect northeast China, with more than 260,000 people evacuated in Liaoning Province. Heavy rains have caused urban flooding, school and business closures, and transport disruptions, including disruptions to train service in Liaoning and Jilin Provinces. High-speed rail services in Jilin City are expected to resume on July 16, while regular train services are expected to resume gradually later.

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake occurred offshore Chile, with a damage radius of 16 km and felt effects up to 200 km away.

Italy is facing its third major heatwave of the summer, with heat alerts expanding across the country. Several cities are under red-level heat warnings, with more expected to move to the highest alert level as temperatures and humidity rise. Extreme heat may affect outdoor activity, sightseeing, public events, road travel and travelers without reliable cooling. Wildfire risk may also remain elevated in dry and hot areas.

A Flood Watch remains in effect through the evening of July 16 as repeated slow-moving thunderstorms are expected to bring heavy rainfall. Widespread totals of 2–6 inches are possible, with isolated areas receiving up to 10 inches. Flash flooding may affect rivers, low-lying areas, rural roads, campsites and water crossings, potentially causing dangerous travel conditions and road closures. Advice: * Reconsider camping, hiking and river activities in the affected areas. * Check road and weather conditions before traveling. * Move immediately to higher ground if a Flash Flood Warning is issued. * Allow additional time for travel and follow local authority instructions.

A 24-hour strike by Renfe employees is scheduled for July 15 and is expected to cause train cancellations, delays and increased congestion at major stations. Minimum services will operate at up to 75% on commuter routes, 66% on medium-distance services and 73% on high-speed and long-distance routes.
