South Korea is forecasted to experience heavy rain and strong winds over the next two days, with significant accumulated rainfall expected, potentially impacting travel and safety.

A strong magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck southeast of Loyalty Islands, with a significant felt radius of 721 km. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 23.1 km.

Temperatures and winds are expected to strengthen across Greece between July 14-17. Northerly winds may reach 8 Beaufort in the southeastern Aegean and southern Crete, while temperatures could rise to 38-39°C in parts of Central Greece, Thessaly and Macedonia. The hot, dry and windy conditions will increase the risk of rapidly spreading wildfires and may disrupt ferry services and outdoor activities.

Advice:

* Avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest hours.
* Do not light fires or barbecues in forests or open areas.
* Check ferry schedules before travelling between islands.
* Avoid swimming or sailing during strong-wind conditions.
* Follow local weather, fire-risk and Civil Protection updates.

Emergency crews continue to tackle major wildfires on Conwy Mountain in North Wales and Tintwistle Moor in the Peak District. Residents were evacuated near Conwy, but authorities report no need for more evacuations. Hot, dry, and windy conditions have placed much of England and Wales at very high wildfire risk. Parts of southern England and the Midlands face exceptional risk. Further fires may cause sudden road, rail, and outdoor-site closures.

Heavy rainfall has triggered floods and landslides along the Kumrung Khola and the Modi River, damaging a suspension bridge and sections of the main Annapurna Base Camp trail near Ghurjung, Syauli Bazaar, Banthanti, and Ghandruk. Trekkers, guides, and porters have been advised to avoid high-risk sections and use alternative routes, while further heavy rain may prolong dangerous conditions and travel disruption.

A major wildfire remains active in Fontainebleau Forest after spreading across approximately 800 hectares. Around 400 firefighters and several aircraft are battling the blaze, while homes in Le Vaudoué have been evacuated. The A6 remains closed in both directions near the affected area, and high-speed rail services between Paris and southeastern France are experiencing major delays following damage to the railway.

Severe weather from July 8-11 caused landslides, flooding, and road damage across northern Vietnam, including one injury in Son La. Although conditions have eased, saturated soil may still trigger further landslides and localized travel disruptions.

Although Typhoon Bavi has weakened, heavy to torrential rain is expected across Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Liaoning, and Jilin. Alerts have been issued for flash floods and geological hazards in parts of Anhui, Liaoning, and Jilin, while river flooding and waterlogging continue to affect several areas. Transport is gradually resuming in Zhejiang, but localized disruptions to roads, rail, and flights may persist.

* Check flight, rail, and road conditions before departure.
* Allow extra travel time and prepare for sudden route closures.
* Follow evacuation orders and local weather warnings.

The Thai Meteorological Department forecasts heavy to very heavy rain . Accumulated rainfall may cause flash floods, runoff, and road disruptions, particularly near waterways, foothills, and low-lying areas. Waves may reach 2-4 metres in the Andaman Sea and exceed four metres during thunderstorms, while small boats should remain ashore in the Andaman Sea and upper Gulf.

Repeated thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding through early July 13. A Flood Watch remains active across eastern Tennessee, southwestern Virginia, and southwestern North Carolina, where saturated ground increases the risk of flooding on roads, streams, and in low-lying areas. Additional localized flooding may continue on July 13, particularly across northern Georgia and South Carolina.
