Uncontrolled Wildfire Rages in Southern France

A massive wildfire in the Aude region has burned over 16,000 hectares since its start on August 5. It remains out of control with strong winds, heat, and dry conditions fueling its spread. Thousands of residents and tourists have been evacuated from villages and campsites, including Saint‑Laurent‑de‑la‑Cabrerisse and Jonquières. Many roads remain closed, and power outages affect approximately 2,500 households.   Advice: - Avoid travel to Aude; evacuations, road closures, and hazardous smoke are widespread. - Obey evacuation orders immediately if issued; don’t delay departure. - Expect road closures and heavy traffic, especially in fire-affected areas. Airport Security Strike Alert with disruptions expected from August 15 to Year-End

Earthquakes Reported Off the Coast of Kamchatka Peninsula
