Vietnam is experiencing a surge in dengue fever cases, particularly in its two largest cities, as of July 31. Hanoi reported 72 new infections last week, doubling the previous week’s total to 475 cases and 15 outbreak clusters in 2025. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City has over 15,500 cases and 10 deaths as of mid-July. Violent protests have erupted at Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya’s second-largest refugee settlement, since July 29 in response to cuts in food rations and aid. The heaviest rainfall is expected from 2 p.m. Thursday to 12 a.m. Friday, with low-lying roads and underpasses at risk of flooding. Beginning August 1, Deutsche Bahn will close the direct Berlin-Hamburg rail line for at least nine months, affecting around 30,000 daily passengers. Thailand's Civil Aviation Authority (CAAT) has instituted a nationwide ban on all drone flights from July 30 to August 15, 2025, due to heightened border tensions with Cambodia. Violators of the ban will be subject to hefty fines and possible imprisonment. Since April, immigrant workers in Prato, a major textile hub, have staged strikes organized by SUDD Cobas, demanding a 40-hour work week.
