A tornado warning was issued for areas near Memphis, TN, and St. Louis, MO early on June 8. Near Memphis, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado and quarter-sized hail was spotted near St. Francis National Park, moving east at 25 mph. Radar indicated rotation, prompting shelter alerts. St. Louis experienced a similar warning, which has since been lifted as the storm weakened. Advice: - Tornado Safety: If still under threat, move to a storm shelter or an interior room on the lowest floor. Stay away from windows and remain indoors until the all-clear is given. - Mobile Homes and Vehicles: These structures offer little protection.
