Weather Alert

Caution

Country: Czech Republic

Location: Liberec, Central Bohemia, Prague, Plzeň, South Bohemia, and western Vysočina regions

The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI) has issued an orange-level weather warning for severe thunderstorms across multiple regions, effective from 15:00 local time (13:00 GMT) on June 4 until 02:59 on June 5. The affected areas include Liberec, Central Bohemia, Prague, Plzeň, South Bohemia, and the western part of the Vysočina region. Forecasts indicate the potential for torrential rainfall, flash flooding, hail, and strong winds. These conditions may lead to hazardous driving, property damage, and localized flooding.   Advice: - Do not attempt to drive through flooded roads or underpasses; water depth can be deceptive and dangerous. - If you are outdoors and hear thunder, seek shelter immediately in a safe, enclosed space; avoid sheltering under trees or near tall structures. - Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving or bus and train timetables, and amending your travel plans if necessary. - Prepare for potential power outages by charging electronic devices and having flashlights and batteries readily available. - For the latest information, monitor official weather updates at the attached link.
