The UK government, via the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), has ordered Amazon to recall Dorland “Intrinsically Safe” Electronic Equipment due to a “serious risk of explosion and fire,” as of April 8, 2025. These devices such us, Dorland smartphone, smartwatch, or laptop (e.g., Extreme 5G, Aloha 5G Pro, EX NB09S), marketed for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas, lack required safety markings and fail to meet the Equipment and Protective Systems Intended for Use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2016.   Advice: - Verification: Confirm your product against the full list on the government website (gov.uk/product-recalls), thousands are impacted, dispatched by Dorland-Ex Smartphones. - Safety First: Avoid using these in explosive environments (e.g., oil, gas, chemical sites), lack of conformity assessments means they’re not proven safe. - Consumer Awareness: Regularly check your electronics for recall notices, and report suspicious devices to the OPSS to help prevent future risks.
