Severe flash flooding has impacted parts of Kentucky following heavy rainfall. State of emergency have been declared and rescue teams conducting rescues and searches in flooded areas. Reports indicate damaged roads and bridges, and in Bullitt County, residents near a dam embankment were advised to evacuate. Further rainfall and residual flooding may continue to affect travel, especially on rural roads and low-lying routes for the next few days.

The Central African Republic has declared a cholera outbreak after 197 cases and 24 deaths were reported in the Bimbo and M’baïki health districts southwest of Bangui. Measures to limit transmission have been introduced in affected areas and are being expanded to nearby towns. Cholera spreads through contaminated food and water, and the risk is higher in areas with poor sanitation, unsafe water access, or crowded living conditions.

Severe thunderstorms following heatwave caused major disruption at Heathrow, Gatwick, London City, Stansted, Edinburgh and Birmingham airports with hundreds of flights delayed and dozens cancelled. Between 600-900 flight were delayed exceeding six hours residual delays, rebooking pressure, aircraft/crew positioning issues, and schedule instability even after weather conditions improve are expected.

Nairobi remains tense following the June 25 Gen Z memorial protests, which were met with heavy police deployment, roadblocks, tear gas and mass arrests. While no new nationwide protest has been confirmed for June 28, localized unrest remains possible in Nairobi. Recent protests around Kiamaiko and Outer Ring Road have caused roadblocks, traffic disruption, stone-throwing and attacks on motorists, with one death and injuries reported. Further police operations, sudden road closures and localized protests may affect movement across parts of the city.

Venezuela continues to face dangerous conditions following the powerful earthquakes on June 24. A new magnitude 4.8 earthquake was reported near northern Venezuela on June 27, while frequent aftershocks continue to complicate rescue operations and increase the risk of further structural collapse. Severe damage has been reported in La Guaira and parts of Caracas, with ongoing power, mobile and internet disruptions in some affected areas. Simón Bolívar International Airport near Caracas has also sustained damage, causing major flight disruptions. Tsunami alerts issued earlier for parts of the Caribbean have been cancelled, but aftershock and infrastructure risks remain high.

Thunderstorms across southern England are causing major disruption to air travel, particularly around London’s main airports. More than 600 flights have reportedly been delayed or cancelled, with some delays lasting several hours, while heat and storm-related warnings remain in effect across parts of England. Further disruption to flights, airport transfers, road access and some rail services may continue into June 28 as airlines and transport operators work through delays. A large pro-government rally is expected in central Belgrade on June 27, with road closures and public transport disruptions already affecting areas around the Serbian Parliament. The rally comes amid heightened political tensions in Serbia, and increased police presence, heavy congestion, route changes and possible localized clashes may occur through the evening. Road closures in parts of central Belgrade are expected to remain in place until early June 29.
