Despite warnings, many visitors are venturing dangerously close to the lava front, increasing the risk of accidents, falls, and explosions, especially with the harsh, snowy conditions.   Advice: If visiting Mount Etna, avoid lava flows and respect safety warnings. The Department of Health (DOH) reports a 40% increase in dengue cases, with 28,234 recorded from January 1 to February 1, 2025. Quezon City has declared a dengue outbreak after 10 fatalities in recent weeks. Eight additional local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and Central Luzon are experiencing a concerning rise in cases.
