Aircraft Accident Alert

A mid-air collision occurred on January 29, 2025, over the Potomac River near Washington, D.C. An American Airlines regional jet with 64 people on board collided with a U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter during approach to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Both aircraft crashed into the river. Emergency response teams were deployed, recovering 18 bodies. No survivors have been found. The FAA and NTSB are investigating the cause, initially focusing on air traffic control communication.
