Tropical Cyclone Dikeledi Alert

Country: Madagascar

Location: Northern and Central Madagascar

Tropical Cyclone Dikeledi is moving through the Mozambique Channel, following landfall in northern Madagascar on Jan. 11. Heavy rainfall exceeding 12 cm (5 inches), strong winds up to 130 kph (81 mph), and coastal flooding are expected. Meteo Madagascar has issued:
  • Red Cyclone Alerts: Diana, Sava, Bealanana, Antsohihy, and Analalava districts.
  • Red Heavy Rainfall Warnings: Analanjirofo and Atsinanana regions.
  • Red Strong Wind Warnings: Coastal areas between Antsiranana and Toamasina, and Antsiranana to Analalava.
  • Red Heavy Swell Warnings: Coastal areas from Bobaomby to Mahanoro and Maintirano.
Advice: Avoid affected coastal areas and limit non-essential travel. Refrain from attempting to drive through flooded areas. Heed all weather warnings and local authorities guidelines.
